The Saigon Zoo is certainly not one of a world class standard but it makes a fun outing for the kids in the not so child-friendly Ho Chi Minh City. Another plus point about going to the Saigon Zoo is you can also visit the Botanica Gardens, Hung Vuong Temple and the History Museum which are all within the same compound.

The Saigon Zoo is about 1km from the Saigon Post Office. It’s very easy to get there. Facing the Saigon Post Office, just head down the road to your left and make a right turn at the road in front of the Diamond Plaza.

After making the right turn from the Saigon Post Office at the previous picture, it’s STRAIGHT all the way to the Saigon Zoo. Use the newly built Kumho Asiana Plaza (circled in yellow) as your first landmark. (Side track: can’t resist but to mention that this Kumho Asiana Plaza is also where you’ll find the 1st Hard Rock Cafe in Vietnam )

Keep walking down and your next landmark is the Saigon Tower where you’ll also see the Singapore Airlines office.

Your last landmark will be the Sofittel Plaza Saigon Hotel. The Saigon Zoo is less than 400m from here.
